Thanks,

I am flat out like a lizard drinking with learning to play lawn bowls, driving from one end of the city to the other, just generally being a doormat to my employer, my day often feels wasted from my partner kicking me out of bed to I am begging my kid to go to sleep or so help me God that kid will be decorating my wall, 'Duct tape still life'. I am quite the socialite. but who cares.
I totally promise I will update you with my nefarious activities as soon as I get a chance. Honestly! What do you mean you don't believe me?.
You can make your own here!

Read the press release here...
To the couple of friends I have across the country that work for Expo, I am sincerely sorry to hear the news today. HD will downplay this and point out it's only less than 2% of our total workforce, but, it's still 7k people! Those thousands of people are now being tossed into a sea of uncertainty that I have been in a few times myself, and I hope they land on their feet, I really do.
The state of our economy is horrible, and it's not something that is going to be fixed overnight, or by any one man, as much as folks would like you to believe. The lack of oversight on our financial institutions is what landed us here finally, but you can't point the finger of blame at any one person. It's through much complacency that we have landed where we are, and as they say, we made our bed, now we have to sleep in it. I had been avoiding commenting on several friends journals, because I seem to have an unpopular opinion about things, but it sure hit home today. Locally, those that work at Sprint, I hope you are not one of those let go, that's not something that will be good for our area, but there will be so much more to come. I am taking nothing for granted anymore.
Our store will be effected by these changes, our installers, our partners, they will all be effected by what comes, I can only hope that since Nardelli is finally gone, that we can weather the changes and come out on top.
I really urge everyone to get involved! Don't sit by and let those in our government, local or national, to continue to make these bad decisions soley to line their pockets or further their careers. I had some conversations recently with some friends when one of them said to me "I don't bother following all this politcal crap, its all just bullshit, and there is nothing I can do about it." Your wrong, even if your not voting, your voice does still count, and their are strength in numbers, state your case!
To those folks that I have been "ignoring" or, "avoiding".. that's really not the case. I am fighting for what I have, to keep what I have, in a financial and emotional state, and holding on by the skin of my teeth. Yes, I am grumpy, moody, rude, short and all those other things I have been called recently, and it's going to stay that way until I can be comfortable in my life. I've lost everything in my life twice now, I will be damned if I do it a third time.
Once again, to any fellow associates, managers or partners reading this, I hope you weren't effected by this first wave of changes, and, if you were, I wish you the best of luck... for my friends that are effected, if there is anything I can do, please.. you know how to contact me.

It's never easy to say goodbye to a parent, in fact, I think that it is one of the hardest things anyone can do to help a family member move on and say good bye.
Whatever your faith, whatever you believe happens after death, I ask all my friends to keep "C" in your prayers and thoughts today and through the rest of this situation, whatever the outcome may be. If you have thoughts or well wishes, please comment here and I will pass these along to her.
Together we can get through anything.
Thank you everyone

This day means a lot of things to many people, but to me Samhain is the start of the New Year, a time to let go of the old and embrace the new. The end of the harvest season is here and it is time to pay respects to those love ones and friends that are departed. Colors for the day of course are orange and black (as rightly they should be) and I light a single candle and pay my respects to the spirits.
For all of my friends, both those departed and those still here, Blessed Be!

The rest of my entry this evening will be venting!
I dislike Gateway's return policy! I need repair on my laptop, the DVD drive is not working properly, a problem I have reported in the past. My warranty is up in about a month so I decided I would talk to them again today. They would not even troubleshoot with me, they want me to send it in for repair. They send me a box, tell me to send it in and I get it back in 7-14 business days. Real nice! Not to mention, they told me to make a back up of my hard drive because they would reformat it to put it back to factory specs BEFORE doing any other troubleshooting. How nice of them.
Also, if it gets damaged in shipping, I have to take it up with UPS.. they actually told me that.
What happened to local customer service? Gateway has really gone down hill!

Going to be a long day, *sighs* I hate being here, I no longer like my job at all and I have not had much response even after followups to places I have submitted my resume to.
Oh well, gotta get to work.

Learned something this morning. To those of my friends who play EVE online, you will understand this:
-Warp core stabilizer, 120k ISK
-Brand new Thorax cruiser 6.7 million ISK
-Forgetting to equip your warp core stabilizer, and getting jumped then blown up by a member of your own corporation while salvaging in low sec space, PRICELESS!
Ok, so it was an expensive lesson, but a good one! The funny part is, last night that would have pissed me off, today, I laughed and congratulated the other pilot on a good clean kill!
